GUIDE TO BUCKEYES IN TEXAS
Buckeyes are deciduous, polygamo-dioecious trees in the genus Aesculus and Ungnadia, belonging to the Sapindaceae Family in the order Sapindales. Buckeye species are identified by their distinctive leaves, colorful flowers and large seeds:

RED BUCKEYE (Aesculus pavia) is native to the eastern part of the state, and through south central texas.
